Tomorrow morning we're having meetings in Midland......we're leaving the branch at 5:00 am. Yeah.....that's in the morning.....before the sun comes up.....before Jason is awake.
It will be a great day though - we have a bunch of big wigs coming in. So i'm trading my chinos and boots for slacks and button downs.......I'm going to look all pretty like:)
Today was another dead day at work. It was 14 degrees this morning when I left for work and the roads were pretty icy. Julie had another day off and I'm extremely jealous!!! It's hard to get up for work when it's frappin freezing in your house......I think our heater is bi polar....sometimes it blows hot air - then decides it wants to blow cold air! Totally awesome when it's cold outside!!!
Fortunately the cold should be past us - it got up to 56 today which was a welcome sight.
Man.....how old am i?!?!? Talking about the weather and what not!!
Here's a baby update......Julie's actually starting to get a little of her appetite back - foods starting to sound appetizing and actually taste good. that's great - She's been such a trooper through the first trimester! Hopefully the 2nd trimester will be smooth sailing. I, on the other hand, never lost my appetite and in fact - I guess I think I'm eating for 2....must be sympathy hunger - but i've put on 5 lbs since Julie got pregnant....I'm showing more than she is:)
It's cool though - my arms look the same, face looks the same.....just have a little more plump stomach.........pair that up with my balding and I'm one sexy mamba jamba - haha

it's frappin freezin'
Man it's cold out there!!!! 23 degrees......and snowing/sleeting/it's nasty!!!!
Unfortunately there's not enough snow for me to take the snow board out!!! Bummer!!!
I should have Julie pull me behind the truck - she didn't think that was a good idea - would have been fun:)
Today, she was off due to the weather........and I was....not off due to the weather. I should have taken off though - there was no one working today. I spent most of the day trying to get some meetings schedule with no luck - i was 5 for 30 getting a hold of people.
Gotta love Texas weather - 75 one day - 25 and snowing the next!!!
I hope you all are doing well. Be Blessed this week.

Sweet Cassie
Please say a prayer for my family as we lost our dear, precious dog Cassie today.
She was such a sweet dog that always greated you with a smile and a wagging tail.
She was almost 12 years old and had a great life. Brought a lot of smiles and laughter to our family.
My mom took her to the vet today because she was going down hill pretty fast and the doctors said both of her kidneys were failing.....they could mask the symptoms but really it was only a matter of time.
Though we will miss her terribly we all know in our hearts that she is no longer in pain and it was time to let her go.

Awesome!!
As many of you know...Julie is pregnant! I cannot tell you how excited we are!
We found out about it on December 18th....the same day my Cousin Chad had Camron as well as my brother's sister in law had Coleman (it was a baby day.)
So we've been keeping it a "secret" for the last 3 weeks because our first doctor's appt/sonogram was Thursday January 10th. Everything with "peanut" was great as well as with Julie.
It truly was an amazing experience seeing the sonogram and hearing the babies heartbeat. I was in awe seeing our baby for the first time. Listening to the heart beat honestly made my heart melt. I cannot believe there is a baby growing inside my wife's body. Truly a day we will never forget.
All the while looking at the sonogram - wanting to do cart wheels as well as throw up (as a dad, it makes you proud but nervous as well) - the dr was talking about everything and really...honestly I missed half the conversation just staring. Falling in love with the baby before it's even born or even before we know what "peanut" will be.
Since we've known for some time I have had a lot of time to myself......a few weeks ago I got to go hunting where I spent hours in the blind.....mostly by myself.....and just thought.....thought about life....thought about the future....thought about our growing family....thought of all the things in my life I need to "change" before we introduce "peanut" to the world.
You see, it is an amazing feeling knowing you are going to be a dad. for those of you that have been blessed with kids, or are going through the same thing Julie and I are, you know exactly what I'm talking about. But, you also feel a sense of "freaked-out-ness" (yes, it's a word in my world) Knowing that you are responsible for another life....knowing you are responsible for teaching it right from wrong....knowing you are responsible for teaching it the teachings of Christ.
So I decided that it was time I made my a New Year's Resolution....One that actually meant something to me....one that would help me be a better husband, future father, and follower of Christ.
So last week I was reading scripture - I didn't know exactly what I wanted to study so I decided just to pick a book and ended up reading Titus.
The theme for this book (without getting into the background) is "Doing what is Good."
So that, as simple as it sounds, is my resolution this year. To do what is good. To be a better husband, to be patient and kind and even-tempered so that I might be a good father as well as a better follower of Christ.
One of my favorite group of verses in Titus is in the 2nd chapter, verses 11-14
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldy passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and goldy lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Please keep Julie, I, and "Peanut" in your prayers. God bless each of you in your week.

exhausted
Things with work and all have been so hectic lately. Last month was a great month - but man, it wore me out...borderline burnt out.
I've been back at work for a full week and am still trying to get caught up from being off 4 days in the span of 2 weeks.
Last week was a good week....just kind of eased back into working....this week will be totally different...I'll be on the road pretty much all week and will work some late hours.
I guess I should be used to it - but it still sucks working long hours!!!!
Oh well - I hope everyone is doing well....when I have more energy and time I'll write regarding my new years resolution - it's a good one:)
