weekends go by too fast

Yes, it's true....weekends go by too fast!
We had a good weekend minus the fact that I fell asleep on the love seat both nights.
We're finally getting close to getting the nursery complete and patiently awaiting the arrival of baby Reagan.
Saturday I had to do the hated task of mowing - there are 2 things in life that I want.....one a maid (I dislike cleaning...A LOT) and 2 someone to mow my lawn.....Come to think of it, that just makes me lazy...but, It is what it is!!
With the little rain we had last week our weeds are looking fantastic....Seems like every time I pick a weed or spray to kill them, they multiply in number and in color - we now have butter cups and sunflowers growing in th back yard!!! Pretty much everthing is growing but the turfalo we planted 2 years ago. But, at least it's green.

After mowing we headed out to do some shopping. After the last stay at the hospital we decided we needed to be more prepared in case it happens again - here's a list of what we need
1) Laptop with movies (tv is not very entertaining at 3:00 am when you can't sleep because you have frost bite
2) comfortable pants/sweats
3) comfortable long sleeve shirt
4) jacket (seriously - I was freezing)
5) blanket/pillow - my mother in law embroidered a fleee blanket with me - it says...Julie's Baby's Daddy - how awesome is that!
6) COMFORTABLE SHOES!!!! boots will not work, sketchers will not work
7) Play Station 3 - that'd be sweet if my wife would let me:)

We went to Target, Academy, Kohls, Kid's Village, and to some antique store that smelled lovely (that's a joke)

Sunday we went to class and church, Taco Bell, and to Sam's - came home, took naps, and went to Walmart for 3 years it seemed like!! We always spend so much time in walmart and it takes about an hour to walk from one side of the store to the other. Especially when you have a prego woman slowing you down:) haha - actually she now walks as slow as I do - so it's nice!!!

This weekend I actually had 2 ideas that Julie liked....It was HUGE....most of the time in life as a man there are things we just need to accept....things that we never really have a say in and it's just apart of life. Here are some things that we have no say in as men.
1) wedding stuff - all you need to know is when and where to stand - and pick out your cake (if you're lucky)
2) decorating the house after you get married.....I don't know what's wrong with deer heads, turkey feathers, a few couches you bought at good will, and a few random pictures - but for some reason it just doesn't fly

There are more I know and now to the point......Point number 2 is where I come in.....We're finishing up the nursery as stated above and I really have just been the one that:
1) puts the furniture together
2) takes the furniture a part to move it to the other room and puts it back together
3) hang the curtain tie back thingy
4) hands over his life savings to purchase everything in the room

Those have been my dealings with decorating this room - not much until this weekend.
I love the scripture Jeremiah 29:11 - it's my favorite scripture and I really wanted it to be in the baby room. It says: "For I know the plans I have for you," Declares the Lord,"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
So I told Julie I wanted this and she started looking around at frames and what not, so I was thinking it'd be this little picture frame that she'd buy just to make me happy.....then would throw it in the closet are in some drawer. But, much to my surprise she found the vinly word decal with this scripture.....that's actually going on the wall (I think) and it's big....like 25" x 25".
And that was my idea......straight from the mind of Jason Webb....and she liked it and is using it.....That has to be a first not only from me but from many other men......I should be an interior decorator - haha......just kidding....or am i?

That's it - that's all I have.....75 days left until our bundle of joy gets here....with as much as she's moving around.....looks like she's already enrolled in gymnastics or karate.....she's bound to sleep for at least 3 weeks after she's born - she's making me tired just watching Julie's stomach bounce around.

God Bless each of you this week.

last week was a whirlwind

As many of you know Julie was in the hospital Monday and Tuesday with an out of control heart beat. So, here's how it went down through the eyes of Jason Webb.

Monday was my unpaid day off....the one I last wrote about as being excited to take a break and unwind. I woke up at 9:30, started getting ready to go fishing. That's all I've wanted to do for a while and I actually had time to go.....or so I thought.
I just got done brushing my teeth when my phone rings.....it's Julie.....telling me her OB said we needed to go to the ER due to her heart beat.....crap - so I hauled rear to pick her up headed up to the hospital.
It didn't take long for the ER to get us a room (actually, when she was checking in the nurse told someone on the phone she really needed a room - she said I know that lady passed away...can you clean that room so we can have it?) So, we might have gotten the room they just hauled a dead person out of.
They ran an EKG on her heart as well as a sonogram on Reagan to which both came back fine. Her heart was still beating pretty fast but had calmed down some so we were thinking we'd be leaving any time now.....not so much, the ER doctor said our OB wanted Julie to stay overnight so they can observe her and the baby so we headed up stairs (6 hours after we got to the hospital)

Here's the simple version of what happened next:
1) Jason went home to let dogs out and get stuff for Julie (finally got to eat since I hadn't eaten all day)
2) back at the hospital - watched a bunch of gay reality shows julie likes
3) tried to go to bed - slept for a few hours until 3:00 am when Julie turned on the TV....I was FREEZING (it was like 30 degrees in our room no joke) and hungry......headed to whataburger for some some early breakfast
4) back at the room, julie still awake and nurse came to hookher up to the baby monitor
5) 5 am i was tired and went back to sleep until 7;30
6) got some coffee and was hopeful we'd be leaving soon
7) nurse said OB wanted to do a sonogram of Julie's legs to make sure there was no clotting....awesome.....doubtful we'd be leaving soon
8) went home to let the dogs out since they had been in their kennel for dang near 12 hours
9) crazy nurse dude took us down to get sonogram
10) sonogram was cool looking and everything came back fine
11) finally released from the hospital with no clue what was wrong with Julie

Luckily Baby Reagan wasn't bothered by any of this - she was still moving around and had a stable, strong heart beat...she didn't like the baby monitor though - every 30 seconds it seemed like she'd kick it and you'd hear this whomp sound.

Thankfully Jon, Julie's brother, came up to help out since I had to get back to work.
The rest of the week was hectic as usual - getting caught up and trying to get this period started off on the right foot. Thanks Jon - we really appreciate you helping us out!!

So, my fun day of fishing turned into a long, boring day at the hospital....I'm too ADD to be sitting in one place for long periods of time.

where has the time gone

Lets just say this has been a crazy/hectic past month!!
Most of you know I'm in sales - I have been for the last 5 years.
Well, due to the economy and the fact that everyone is watching what they spend - sales is a challenging job to have.
You anticipate being in sales that some months will be better than others and we have found that out to be true. What once was so easy has become increasingly difficult - you work more hours to produce less results. Here's an example - for the first 10 months of working with Safety-Kleen i averaged roughly 135% of quota each month....Things were rocking and rollin' along and life was good. The last 2 periods have been a much different story however - last period I ended at 70% of quota - yikes......I was hacked off and thought it couldn't get any worse....until this period....i was a whoppin 42% of quota.....ouch - that hurts the ego/pay check/confidence.
It was one of those periods where if it was going to go wrong - this is the period it would go wrong in. Everyone at work was frustrated.
Oh well, tomorrow is a new day and a new period....a fresh new start.
Our company, like all others, is finding ways to cut expenses - so everyone got a 5% pay decrease and 5 mandatory unpaid days off. This is all temporary (hopefully), until the economy turns back around.
Well, tomorrow is my 2nd of 5 days off and I couldn't be more excited. I was originally hacked off but now see that it's good for me. I work WAY too many hours and never take time off.
So this is a way for me to force myself to take time off, to recharge my battery so I don't get any more burned out.
Here's the plan tomorrow........Absolutely nothing.....watch some tv, take a nap, maybe play some PS3 but that's about it. AWESOMENESS!!!!
Enough of work.

Last weekend we went to Fredericksburg with my mother, father, brother, grandma, and grandpa in law. We had a blast. We shopped a little bit, ate a lot (shocker), and really just enjoyed being away and hanging out with family. Jon and I decided we had enough of the shopping so we headed to Luckenbach for a little bit to see what was going on. they had a bday party for Tony - who knows who Tony is but we were there to celebrate with him......Man - there are some interesting people in that town......we enjoyed hanging out and making fun of people.
(Julie has Fredericksburg pics on her blog)
We had our 3d/4d sonogram yesterday. That was such a neat experience. It's amazing to be able to see your baby inside the womb. I was in awe and it really put life into perspective. Everything that happened last period is now over. All of life's frustrations come and go. There are so many more important things in life. I was in awe, speechless while watching our baby move around. It was an unbelievable exerience. She wasn't cooperating very well though - I think she gets that from Julie - haha. She had her hands by her face most of the time and her foot joined the party as well. There was one picture we did get of her and she was beautiful.
She sucked on her thumb a lot and aparently chewed on her hand a lot - she might not have hands by the time she gets here - haha.
